Tam Tran is a designer/maker using ancient hand worked technique of gold/silversmithing. Her signature work incorporates traditional techniques and materials from the classical period with a distinct design perspective creating relevant timely work. She works intuitively, is inspired by ancient civilizations and indigenous cultures which serve as a starting point for her designs. Each piece is hand worked and bear the organic marks of its fabrication and is made locally in her New York City studio.

Influences from her apparel/textile design background is evident in her use of color, diverse range of raw materials, and an irreverent exploration of traditional metals technique.

Lost Wax Studio, a recently opened retail space/studio with unique raw materials, beautiful jewelry from small independent designers and offers fun jewelry making workshops in Nolita, is Tam’s most recent project. LOST WAX STUDIO
